Lake Michigan is the most frequently visited water in Northern Illinois and because of its size and fishing diversity it’s easy to see why. The waters of southern Lake Michigan around the Chicago and Waukegan areas are the most productive on a month by month basis, than any other area of the lake. This is often the result of wind direction, water temperatures, fish migrations, and geographic location. Superb and consistent salmon and trout fishing is available from April through October. Salmon fishing out of Waukegan Harbor is often excellent and our charter hours of operation are flexible to accommodate daily parties. To ensure success, we will recommend a preferred time to fish based on recent fishing success, fish locations, and feeding habits.
